This is what I don't like about many movies these days: terrible writing.<br/><br/>Bad guys who are cartoonishly bad and good guys who are without fault. Everything is spelled out for you, who you are supposed to like and dislike. The writing is too lazy or incompetent to imbue the characters with anything that would make them seem real.<br/><br/>These characters, living in the Dark Ages, have a knowledge of geography, politics and philosophy that many people don't even possess today.<br/><br/>This movie is well filmed though. The look is great and the battle scenes well done. But despite that, I still can't bring myself to ever waste my time on this rubbish again.<br/><br/>This movie had potential. It could have been great if it was crafted with a more realistic portrayal of people from that time. These simple-minded movies where the main characters and their causes are "good" and all else "evil" bore me. I think people in the 5th century had more to worry about then engaging in discussions about freedom at every opportunity.
Slow, boring, predictable. There is nothing in this movie that is worth recommending (unless you like the sight of Keira Knightley painted blue).<br/><br/>Acting is below par, casting is just bizarre, accents are shocking and I only just mentioned the best things about this movie. The plot is so pedestrian it could have been written by a high school reject, come to think of it, it probably was judging by the poor character development, flat, linear story and dialogs so cheesy they almost melt the screen. I haven't read any reviews before I've seen this movie so my hopes were pretty high after the opening credits stated the movie is based on latest "historical findings" - yeah right, this movie comesclose to historyRobin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Note to British, please do not try to make movies Hollywood style, it's not worth it and it will only make you look bad. 3 out of 10, and 2 points out of 3 are for some nice nature shots.
Fuqua deliberately downplays the fantastical in King Arthur, but the gritty faux realism wears itself out quickly. You've seen one lancing, you've seen them all.
